Carranza Presents on Effectiveness of Developmental Education Programs at NADE Conference

Carmy Carranza presented a Preconference Institute at the thirty-third annual conference of the National Association of Developmental Education in Greensboro, N.C., on February 25, 2009.

The title of her presentation was “Centralized vs. Decentralized Developmental Education Programs: Which Is More Effective.” Carranza presented the IUP model of centralized programming developed by the Department of Developmental Studies. Research has established that centralized programs are more effective in positively affecting student performance and learning outcomes.
