Dr. Jon Lewis and Geoscience majors Matthew Harding, Rhet Richards, Mark Smith, and Surinder Tara attended a Pittsburgh Geological Society workshop on drilling.
They were introduced to well construction, environmental sampling techniques, monitoring equipment, and designing a drilling program. The workshop was offered to prepare students for jobs in the geosciences and to introduce them to professionals in the field today.
