Free Planetarium Show: March 23, 7:00 p.m.

Dr. Ken Coles will present an informational, free planetarium show on March 23, 2009. The show will be about “400 Years of the Telescope,” celebrating the discoveries made by Galileo when he first documented the sights in the heavens revealed by the telescope. We will also look at the current night sky. The show is open to the public and will run about forty minutes.

The planetarium is in the east side of Weyandt Hall (the side away from the Oak Grove). Doors open at 6:45 p.m. If the weather permits, after the show we will take a small telescope or two outside for viewing the sky.

Seating for the shows is first-come, first-seated; it’s not feasible for us to take advance reservations. If you want to bring a large group (i.e., ten or more people), do contact us so we can discuss how to accommodate you, as seating is limited. Call 724-357-5626 or e-mail kcoles@iup.edu.

See the IUP Planetarium Website for more details about this and future shows.
