Dr. Ben Rafoth has been recognized with an award named in his honor. The executive board of the International Writing Centers Association established the Ben Rafoth Graduate Student Research Award in recognition of Rafoth’s many years of support for graduate student research in teaching writing and writing centers. The annual cash award of $1,000 will support research, travel, or related expenses. The first award was presented Oct. 31, 2008, at the twenty-fourth annual IWCA annual conference in Las Vegas to Elizabeth Godbee from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
