President's Invitation to Kovalchick Complex Groundbreaking

On Thursday, November 13, we will officially break ground for the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex. The event starts at 10:00 a.m. with a groundbreaking celebration on the construction site along Wayne Avenue, adjacent to the university. A reception will follow. Through the combined efforts of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and federal, state, county, and local officials and organizations, the complex is becoming a reality. November 13th will truly be an extraordinary day for the Indiana and IUP communities.

Please do not let inclement weather prevent you from attending what is sure to be a truly historic occasion. The site has been appropriately prepared to accommodate you comfortably. Free parking for the KCAC groundbreaking will be available in the parking lot of the former BiLo store along Wayne Avenue.

Trolley service to the ceremony also will be available from several campus locations between 9:15 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

Pick up points will include the following:

  • Memorial Field House main entrance
  • Parking lot in front of Clark Hall
  • Sutton Hall at the circle along South Drive
  • Cul-de-sac between the HUB entrance and Whitmyre Hall
  • Folger Hall and Crimson Event Center along Pratt Drive
  • Robertshaw Building front entrance

The trolley will complete this loop several times between 9:15 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Return service will be provided immediately following the ceremony, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m.
