Dr. Lon Ferguson and Dr. Christopher Janicak from IUP’s Safety Sciences Department each contributed a chapter to the new two-volume American Society of Safety Engineers The Safety Professionals Handbook.
The Safety Professional Handbook features seventy-nine chapters on topics that include management of safety engineering work, risk assessment, workers compensation, fire dynamics, and ergonomics. Ferguson’s chapter is on safety and health training, regulatory issues, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Janicak’s chapter is on how to measure safety performance. The chapter covers areas of safety performance data collection and analysis.
