Conlin Joins History Faculty

Erin Conlin

The History Department is pleased to welcome Erin Conlin as our newest colleague.

Conlin, a recent graduate of the University of Florida,  specializes in public, oral, and 20th-century U.S. history. She teaches courses in these areas, with the latter focusing on race, labor, and migration in modern America.

Her recent work examines the evolution of Florida’s modern farm labor system, from the 1910s through the 1960s, through the working lives of migrant and imported Bahamian farm laborers. She has also facilitated a collection of oral history interviews with former African American farmworkers in central Florida.

One of her central goals is to connect the classroom with the local community and advance social justice through service learning projects.

Conlin will also serve as the History Department’s internship coordinator.
