Tickets are now available for the opening Ovations! series event for the year. Trumpet legend and master showman Doc Severinsen will be on hand Tuesday, September 16, 2014. The performance begins at 8:00 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium of IUP’s Performing Arts Center.

A Grammy Award winner, Doc has made more than 30 albums—from big band to jazz-fusion to classical. Two critically acclaimed Telarc CDs with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra showcase his multifaceted talents from Bach to ballads.

Doc was the Helwig Distinguished Artist at IUP in 1995 and returns to the Fisher stage, with singer Vanessa Thomas, to help the Lively Arts celebrate its 25th season. He will also be joined by an all-star IUP alumni, faculty, and student ensemble—the Keystone Big Band.
