Keystone Rep Closes Season with American Classic, August 7-10

The Glass Menagerie: Lydia Hassell as Amanda and Katherine Schroeder as her daughter, Laura.Keystone Repertory Theater, a summer theater in residence at IUP, will close its 2014 season with Tennessee Williams’s The Glass Menagerie. The production will be performed in the Waller Hall Studio Theater August 7–9 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 10, at 2:00 p.m.

Tennessee Williams’s classic semiautobiographical piece, celebrating the 70th anniversary of its premiere, is explored and reimagined through narrator Tom and his memories. Tom directly engages with his audience and takes them back to St. Louis in 1937, where his mother, Amanda, obsesses over finding a “gentleman caller” for her daughter, Laura.

Recent IUP theater alumnus Derrick Shane directs this American classic.

Tickets are available now at IUPTickets.com and at the Hadley Union Building Box Office, located in the Hadley Union Building on the IUP campus. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 724-357-1313.

Tickets remaining will be sold at the door starting 45 minutes before the performance. Tickets are priced at $14 for regular admission, $12 for senior citizens, and $10 for students and children. Seating is limited.

KRT is produced by IUP’s Department of Theater and Dance and is funded, in part, by the Student Cooperative Association along with sponsorships and private donations.
