Simmons Discusses Blacklegged Tick and Its Pathogens

Tom Simmons, professor of Biology and vector/disease ecologist, gave a presentation on the blacklegged tick and its tick-borne pathogens in Pittsburgh on May 15, 2014.

The presentation was for the Allegheny County Health Department, West Nile Virus Surveillance and Control Program, Registered Pesticide Technician Training, and was sponsored by the ACHD Housing and Community Environment Program. 

Over 30 health department staffers were in attendance, as well as faculty and students from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health.
