Cellblock Visions: Phyllis Kornfeld

Phyllis Kornfeld, from Cellblock Visions, will present on April 15 from 6:00–7:30 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium.

Cellblock by Phyllis KornfeldKornfeld has been a painter and art teacher for over 30 years, working with special populations in nontraditional settings. Since 1983, she has been conducting art programs for men and women incarcerated in institutions around the country, from county jail to all levels of security to death row.

She is the author of Cellblock Visions: Prison Art in America. She is the founder of the public project “Incarcerated Men and Women Making Art for a Cause,” inspiring the prisoners, through their art, to join the rest of us in looking out for one another.

The event is open to the public, and tickets are not required.
