Graduating Students Leave Their Mark Through the Senior Class Gift

Preparing for graduation means decking out your regalia with the Philanthropy Cord

Seniors approaching graduation are invited to continue the senior class gift tradition first started in 1893 by participating in the 2014 Class Gift Program. If you are a senior, your investment of $20.14 will commemorate your graduation and assist future students.

A donation of any size will make a difference in the life of student, but seniors are invited to make a gift in commemoration of their graduation year. Students who give a gift of $20.14 or more will receive the philanthropy cord—a crimson and gray adornment to wear at graduation. This cord not only demonstrates support of the senior class gift program, but it also represents the reciprocal commitment between IUP and its alumni.

Allison Wilson, the Student Philanthropy Council’s vice president of the Senior Class Gift Committee, urges all seniors to make a gift and help the class reach 20.14 percent participation by exceeding 500 gifts. To make a gift, bring the Senior Class Gift giving form to Salute to Grads at the Co-op Store on Thursday, March 27, 2014, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Or, make a gift immediately on your credit card.

Graduating seniors interested in participating on the Senior Class Gift Committee should complete this form to indicate interest or e-mail iup-giving@iup.edu for more information.

If you’ve already made your gift of $20.14, or more, you can pick up your philanthropy cords at Salute to Grads.
