The Frederick Douglass Institute for Intercultural Research is building a debate squad to compete as part of the Douglass Debate Society. IUP’s Douglass Debate Team will train for competition and awards against the other 14 universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

Debaters will network with other students and faculty in the System, receive coaching to improve their public speaking skills, and distinguish themselves for future educational and employment opportunities.

Two informational meetings are scheduled:

  • April 14, 3:30–4:15 p.m.
  • April 22, 12:00–12:45 p.m.
  • Delaney Hall, Room 325

Come find out if debate is for you. All students welcome!
