Speak-Out General Interest Meeting, March 13

Students Advocating Gender Equality will be hosting a Speak-Out General Interest Meeting on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. in the HUB Conemaugh Room.

The Speak-Out is a new event created by SAGE, Women’s Studies Club, and Pride that gives members of the IUP community who are marginalized in regards to their gender or sexuality the chance to talk about their experiences on stage. Women, nonbinary, and transgender people as well as people who do not identify as heterosexual are welcome to participate.

Participants will write their own pieces for the stage related to their experiences in two workshop sessions, rehearse these pieces, and then perform them in a play which benefits The Alice Paul House. If certain participants wish to only write a piece or perform one, they are more than welcome to do so and will be paired up accordingly.

If anyone is interested in participating, they can attend the General Interest Meeting on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 6:30 PM in the HUB Conemaugh Room.
