In addition to the student presentations, Anne Simmons offered a well-attended session entitled “Securing a Science Teaching Position: Hiring Practices in Public Schools,” and Holly Travis discussed “Mini-cover Boards for Science Inquiry,” which generated some novel research ideas for use in varied school settings. In addition, IUP attendees enjoyed other presentations and workshops and came home with several useful items available from publishers, organizations, and science supply companies in the exhibit hall.
