Entrepreneur’s Guide Leads to Award for IUP Small Business Development Center

The IUP Small Business Development Center (SBDC) recently received the 2013 Service Award from the Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers (PASBDC) for assisting the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) to redesign, reorganize, and rewrite the Pennsylvania Entrepreneur’s Guide.

The IUP SBDC helped reorganize the guide into a much more user-friendly document that will be easier to navigate for both start-up and existing businesses. The new guide separates content into five chapters, as shown below, and uses icons to direct the reader to exactly the content that is relevant to them.

  • Chapter I – Preparing to Start a Business
  • Chapter II – Legally Establishing a Business in Pennsylvania
  • Chapter III – Managing and Growing a Business
  • Chapter IV – Important Small Business Resources
  • Chapter V – Directory of Federal and State Agencies
