Art Students Collaborate with Indiana Library

IUP painting students have painted chairs for Indiana Library’s Evening in the Stacks Fundraiser. The chairs were inspired by children’s books and will be auctioned off in a silent auction through the month of November 2013.

A total of 10 chairs were designed and created by 19 beginning painting students. Two were sold in live auction during the Evening in the Stacks by auctioneer Pete Stewart. The remaining eight chairs are accepting bids by silent auction through November 25. Each chair design was inspired by a book representing each of the 10 decades since the library was founded. Designs were further influenced by the artistic styles of the book’s era.
