Geoscience Student Wagner Presents Research on East Scotian Slope Submarine Canyons

Geoscience undergraduate student Sage Wagner presented preliminary results of his senior research project titled “The Evolution and Morphology of Submarine Canyons on the East Scotian Slope” on November 2, 2013, at a poster session sponsored by the Eastern Section American Association of Petroleum Geologists Student Expo.

Working with Katie Farnsworth, Wagner is analyzing a regional bathymetric map integrated in ArcGIS in order to detect relevant morphological changes along the East Scotian Slope and to provide a morphometric methodology to characterize submarine drainage networks at fine resolution scales.
