Last Chance to Register for Mindfulness Workshop!

This Friday, November 15, attend the Undergraduate Mindfulness Workshop to learn valuable relaxation and meditation exercises to help you get mentally prepared for the busy end of the semester. Tomorrow, November 13, is the last day to register by e-mailing your name to Patti at pshaffer@iup.edu.

This workshop will consist of two sessions:

The first is a meditation session that will consist of sitting meditation, walking meditation, and group reflection that will be led by Caleb Finegan.

The second is a session on Mindful Reading and Writing led by Daniel Weinstein:

“Mindful attention to our bodies (to our breath, to our steps) promotes a quiet sense of calm and well-being that can help us gain insight into reality and empower us to act with concentration and kindness, beyond our insecurities.  In this workshop we look at how we may bring this same mindful awareness to our reading and writing, how we may use these literacy practices as vehicles for contemplative self-exploration and as seed beds of action that is both compassionate and creative.”
