Feeling Stressed? Learn to Relax!

Learn valuable relaxation exercises at the Undergraduate Mindfulness Workshop on Friday, November 15, 2013, from 6:00–9:00 p.m. in Wallwork, G98. Register by e-mailing your name to Patti at pshaffer@iup.edu.

A meditation session consisting of sitting meditation, walking meditation, and group reflection will be led by Caleb Finegan. Daniel Weinstein will conduct a session on Mindful Reading and Writing. 

Mindful attention to our bodies (to our breath, to our steps) promotes a quiet sense of calm and well-being that can help us gain insight into reality and empower us to act with concentration and kindness, beyond our insecurities. In this workshop, we look at how we may bring this same mindful awareness to our reading and writing, how we may use these literacy practices as vehicles for contemplative self-exploration and as seed beds of action that is both compassionate and creative.
