Hill Receives Coppler Award as Disability Advocate

Annah Hill, instructor in the Department of Special Education and Clinical Services, received the Ray Coppler Award honoring her exemplary contributions as an advocate for people with disabilities. Annah Hill and Cindy Richburg

Hill was one of two members of the IUP community who were honored on October 28, 2013, during the Six O'Clock Series program. The program celebrated National Disability Employment Awareness Month. John Grant, a doctoral student in English, also received the award.

Hill was nominated by Cynthia McCormick Richburg, an audiologist and faculty member in the Department of Special Education and Clinical Services. In her nomination, Richburg highlighted Hill's commitment to her role as advocate for children, IUP students, and adults in the community in a variety of ways, including through the Arc of Annah Hill and facultyIndiana, the Special Needs Activity Program at IUP, as an IUP instructor, and as a role model as someone with a disability herself.
