Six O’Clock Series Teaches How to Dress for Success

Students, faculty, and staff came together Monday night to watch as the IUP Fashion Association modeled their professional attire down the catwalk. The first Six O’Clock series, “True Life: Dress for the Future,” showed everyone how to dress their best for every type of professional occasion from casual Fridays to a last-minute corporate dinner.

Students from the fashion association and the cosponsor of the event, the Career Development Center, gave a thorough explanation of each outfit from head to toe, including grooming, hygiene, accessories, and even what socks to wear with your outfit. In addition to showing the audience what to wear, the group also modeled some fashion “don’ts” for the audience, giving those in attendance a chance to speak to the fashion faux pas and why they were inappropriate.

Knowing how to dress professionally and do it properly is a must for anyone looking to start or advance their career. For more information on the topic, you can visit the website for the Career Development Center.

Please join us for next week’s program: “Just what did they originally intend? A casual conversation with the framers of the U.S. Constitution,” Monday, September 16, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. in the HUB Ohio Room.
