IUP Researchers Recognized by Autism Speaks

The IUP-ASERT Collaborative received national recognition for their efforts to bring autism awareness to emergency room care.

Joann Migyanka, Jeff Fratangeli, and Susan Glor-Scheib, working with Arvind Venkat from Allegheny General Hospital, developed training to assist emergency room personnel in treating persons with autism spectrum disorders. Funding for this project was granted from the Autism Services, Education, Resources, and Training (ASERT) Western Region Collaborative and the Bureau of Autism Services of the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.
