Kovaleski Completes New Book on Response to Intervention

The Department of Educational and School Psychology congratulates Joseph Kovaleski on the completion and print of his new book, The RTI Approach to Evaluating Learning Disabilities.

His book highlights the procedures for using Response to Intervention (RTI) to determine eligibility for special education for students under the description of specific learning disabilities (SLD). The text provides guidelines for gathering data during the intervention process in order to rule out causes other than SLD for academic problems. Special features are provided throughout the book, which includes case examples, tips for creating individualized education plans based on RTI data, and frequently asked questions.
