New Honorariums and Guest Speakers Procedures

A new procedure is being implemented in Procurement Services on September 2, 2013, that can eliminate “after the fact” transactions for honorariums and guest speaker engagements of $350 or less per engagement for your department. 

To take advantage of this new procedure, please enter a requisition for $1.00 for your department for honorariums and guest speaker services for the 2013–2014 academic year. The requisition provides Procurement Services with the authorization to create a contract for your department.

When your department receives a quote or an invoice for an honorarium or guest speaker services rendered or to be rendered, the department enters and approves a requisition for the amount of their services against the contract. The requisition can now be entered after the services are completed because a contract is in place for the desired services. This process will eliminate the delay in payment caused by an “after the fact” process.
