Public Invited to See 17 Performance Showcases Over Two Days

John Astin as Gomez AddamsThe Indiana community will have a unique opportunity to see 17 performing artists showcasing over two days as the Lively Arts at IUP hosts the annual Pennsylvania Presenters Conference.

The conference moves to a different part of the state each year and features workshops and other activities for professionals involved in presenting performing artists, as well as the performance showcases. The showcases are open to the general public and are free.

Each showcase lasts no longer than 15 minutes, and performances range from theater and magic to classical, jazz, and folk music, to dance, and more. The showcases will be presented in three sets—one on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, and two on Thursday, June 6.

“This is a great opportunity for our community to get a taste of a significant number of artists in a very short time," said Hank Knerr, conference chairperson and Lively Arts director. “It will also give our audiences an inside taste for how the artist selection process works and the wide variety of possibilities available.”

Ample seating is available and tickets are not required. Those attending from the community are encouraged to contact the Lively Arts following the showcases to provide feedback on the performers and interest in bringing them to the community for future seasons.
