Foreign Film and Music Series: “Old Dog”

Old DogOld Dog, part of the Foreign Film and Music Series sponsored by the Office of International Education, will be shown on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at McVitty Auditorium in Sprowls Hall. There will be two showings at 5:30 and 8:00 p.m., with SiLu Jia performing before each.

All showings are free. Films will be in their original language, with English subtitles.

Description

A family on the Himalayan plains discovers their dog is worth a fortune, but selling it comes at a terrible price. Old Dog is both a humorous yet tragic allegory and a sober depiction of life among the impoverished rural Tibetan Community.
