Punxsutawney Students in New York CityOn the morning of Saturday, February 16, 2013, a group of 10 students from the IUP Punxsutawney campus ventured to New York City to be the helping hands of society.

These 10 students are part of a Civic Engagement course that encourages them to become better citizens and stronger leaders. The students packaged individual, personal-sized bags, each containing soap, hand sanitizer, razor, toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner, first-aid kit, gloves, hat, socks, and other personal items. These items, along with a check, were donated to the Sharing Community, Inc. shelter in Yonkers.
