The IUP Safety Sciences Department congratulates the winners of the 2012–2013 Alcoa Partnership Scholarships in the following categories:
- Group 1: Scholarship for diverse (under-represented people of color and women) freshman Safety Sscience students.
The recipient is Saif Shareef ($2,000).
- Group 2: Scholarship for other (non-freshman) diverse (under-represented people of color and women) students currently enrolled in the Safety Sciences B.S. or M.S. program.
Each recipient receives an award of $2,000: Ryan Grant, Tabitha Mantle, and Shannon Wright.
- Group 3: Scholarship for general population Safety Sciences sophomore-level students in the B.S. program.
The recipient is Elliot Laratonda ($1,250).
- Group 4: Scholarship for general population Safety Sciences junior-level students in the B.S. program.
Each recipient receives an award of $1,250: Christie DeVito, Justin Loll, Travis Kurtz, and Aaron Sulava.
The criteria for receiving these scholarships include academic performance, scholarship need, answering two essay questions, and being a representative of the targeted groups.
