Ambassador from South Sudan to Speak at IUP on March 6

Ambassador KhocThe Honorable Akec Khoc, ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan, will give a lecture titled “South Sudan: Achievements and Challenges of a New Nation.” The event will take place Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. in Stouffer Auditorium.

The East African nation of South Sudan gained independence from Sudan in July 2011. The ambassador will discuss the historical process through which his nation was born and will outline a way to the future.

This event is cosponsored by the Pan-African Studies program and the College of Education and Educational Technology.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendance vouchers will be provided.
