Writing Center Workshop: Hearing Voices, February 27

The Writing Center’s Wednesday Workshop series continues with “Hearing Voices” at 7:00 p.m. on February 27, 2013, in 218 Eicher Hall. Research writing often works like a conversation between speakers with different voices. You will learn to identify the “voices” in a text and compose a piece of writing that incorporates your own voice with the various voices of your sources.

All Wednesday Workshop programs are free and open to IUP students and last about an hour. Attendance vouchers will be provided at the conclusion of each workshop.

Following the Hearing Voices workshop, the presentations in the series are as follows:

Wednesday, March 6
Do you have trouble seeing mistakes in grammar and punctuation in your writing? Maybe you’re using the wrong strategy when you read. This workshop shows you how to find errors and correct them.

Writing Personal Statements

Wednesday, March 13
This workshop will help you create a creative and original personal statement for graduate school applications, employment opportunities, and more.

Revising Your Research Paper to Flow Smoothly

Wednesday, March 27
Once you have gathered the sources for a research paper, you still have to fit them in with your own ideas and use transitions to make everything flow together. This workshop helps you do that.
