Lowery Discusses FERPA and Religious First Amendment Rights

John Wesley Lowery was an invited speaker at the 2012 NASPA Law and Policy Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina (December 6–8).

Lowery, who has spoken at the conference on a number of occasions, discussed the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), as well as recent court rulings relating to the First Amendment Rights of student religious organizations and outside religious speakers.

Lowery, associate professor and chair of the Department of Student Affairs in Higher Education, is broadly regarded as one of the leading authorities on legal and legislative issues and student affairs.
