Glisan Presents on Research Priorities at National Conference on American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages

Professor Eileen W. Glisan, Department of Foreign Languages, co-presented three Research Priorities sessions at the annual conference of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, held in Philadelphia in November.

Glisan was a panelist in the session "ACTFL Research Plenary: Introducing Phase II of ACTFL's Research Priorities." She also led two follow-up sessions: "ACTFL Research Priority Area #1: Teacher Preparation Model Programs: Documentation, Implementation, and Outcomes" and "ACTFL Research Priority Area #2: Profiles of High-Performing FL Teachers in K-12 Settings."

Glisan directs the ACTFL national Research Priorities Project, the purpose of which is to establish a national research agenda and conduct research on the identified priorities to inform and improve practice in foreign language classrooms. The project was begun in 2010 and is currently in Phase II.
