Hill Presents on Emergency Preparedness for Individuals Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

Annah Hill, instructor in the Deaf Education program in the Department of Special Education and Clinical Services, presented at the Disability Awareness Workshop in Indiana, Pa., in September 2012.

The workshop was coordinated by the ARC of Indiana County. Eighty-seven individuals from the community participated in the workshop and represented a variety of backgrounds, including law enforcement, medical personnel/health care workers, agency staff members, fire fighters, and educators.

Hill presented on emergency preparedness for individuals who are deaf or have a hearing loss. This presentation is an important service to our community, ensuring that first responders are equipped to help all people in the event of a major emergency.
