The HoodleBug Brass The HoodleBug Brass, IUP’s brass quintet-in-residence, has released its first commercial compact disc. Christmas Postcards from the HoodleBug Brass features 15 tracks of music for the Christmas season. The quintet will perform works from the compact disc and other music for the holidays on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, beginning at 8:00 p.m. in the DiCicco Rehearsal Studio in Cogswell Hall.

Jim Haydon of Complex One Recording Studios in Indiana was the recording engineer for the project, and Meghan McMeans, a student in the IUP Art Department, created the artwork for the CD.

The HoodleBug Brass released its first compact disc, entitled Brass Fac’s, in March 2004. Their second disc, Off the Trac’s, was released in October 2009. The quintet performs works of all styles, from the Baroque to contemporary, pop, and jazz. Most recently, the HoodleBug Brass traveled to Russia in October 2012 and participated in brass festivals held in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
