An award-winning Accounting Department alumnus spoke to accounting classes and Accounting Association members on October 23, 2012.
Brian Walker, a 1994 IUP accounting graduate, won the 2008 Pittsburgh Business Times CFO of the Year award. The certified public accountant serves as the chief financial officer and vice president of finance of Millcraft Industries.
During his visit to IUP, Walker spoke to students about his career, opportunities, and challenges in the business world.
In his professional career, the Natrona Heights native finds himself overseeing, managing, and developing Millcraft’s financial and treasury functions, directing strategic planning and business valuation, and developing and monitoring project budgets.
Walker’s previous work history includes being a partner at a Pittsburgh CPA firm. In addition to working, he serves as chairman of the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce and the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber Enterprise Foundation. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.
Walker has a wife, Jill, and two children and spends his free time coaching youth sports.
