Video of Lecture on the Human Rights Situation of Haitians in the Dominican Republic

Ricardo CampusanoRicardo Campusano, a lawyer and activist from the Dominican Republic, gave a lecture titled “The Human Rights Situation of Haitians in the Dominican Republic.” The lecture took place on Wednesday, October 10, 2012.

Campusano discussed the problems faced by undocumented Haitian immigrants in the Dominican Republic, describing how the Dominican government violates the human rights of these immigrants and of their Dominican-born children. He also noted efforts by various organizations to aid the immigrants and address the abuses.

This lecture was free and open to the public. Attendance vouchers will be provided. The event is cosponsored by the Pan-African Studies Program, the Latin American Studies Program, and the African American Cultural Center.
