New Funding Opportunity for Arts and Human Development Researchers

The IUP Research Institute will be participating in the National Endowment for the Arts and National Institutes of Health webinar for the Arts and Human Development on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. in the RI conference room. No registration is required. All faculty and staff researchers are welcome to attend.

The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will announce the first new funding opportunity connected to the work of the Arts and Human Development Task Force. NIH’s Basic Behavioral and Social Science Opportunity Network (OppNet) initiative will welcome the inclusion of arts and humanities researchers as members of interdisciplinary teams seeking knowledge of the relationship between culture and health. Sunil Iyengar, director of NEA’s Office of Research and Analysis, will moderate the webinar. OppNet coordinator Bill Elwood will present the request for applications. Staff members from other NIH institutes and the National Endowment for the Humanities will be present as well to offer insights and answer questions.
