Jimbo and the Soupbones Featured Band at CounterBlast

Jimbo and the Soupbones, a five-person band, will be the featured band at CounterBlast 2012, along with performance by several students and mini-Black Greek step exhibition.

Jimbo and the Soupbones is “a band that can make you happy.” A musical consortium of funk, rock and soulful emotions, James “Jimbo” Jackson, with charisma to spare, is the quintessential frontman. Everything about Jimbo is big, including his body, voice, and, most actively, his stage presence. He is the band’s songwriter “who lets no lyrical rules govern,” as tragic and often humorous stories and songs are written with specific intentions.

All who attends his performance should be inspired and leave with a feeling of jubilence.

The event is free and open to the public and takes place this Saturday, September 22, in the HUB beginning at 4:00 p.m. For further information, please contact the African American Cultural Center at 724-357-2455.
