Celebration of the Moon to Open IUP Planetarium Series

The first Indiana University of Pennsylvania planetarium show of the fall semester, “Discoveries from the Moon” will take place Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. in the planetarium, on the east side of Weyandt Hall.

moon 170Giving the presentation will be geoscience faculty member Ken Coles. The program, in celebration of International Observe the Moon Night, will include discussion about findings from recent lunar missions and known plans for future missions. 

The program is free and open to the community. If weather permits, telescopes will be set up outside the planetarium after the presentation to observe the moon.

The planetarium series is sponsored by the IUP department of geoscience and the IUP College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
