Parveen Ali, Department of Developmental Studies, presented a paper titled “Questioning the Template: Bangladeshi Muslim Americans” at the 12th International Conference on Diversity in Organizations, Communities, and Nations, which was held in Vancouver, Canada, on June 12, 2012. Her copresenter was Shihab Ali from Brown University.
The study investigates how the experience of Bangladeshi Muslim immigrants in the United States compares to the generalizations about South Asian Muslim immigrants advanced by the current literature.
