Pulitzer Prize Recipient to Speak at Journalism Department Commencement Ceremony

Susan Snyder, a 1985 IUP Journalism Department graduate and a member of the investigative reporting team of the Philadelphia Inquirer that won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service, will be the speaker at the Journalism Department's Commencement ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on May 12 in Waller Theater.

The newspaper series, which ran last spring and documented the breadth of violence in the Philadelphia public schools, was cited by the Pulitzer committee for “powerful print narratives and videos to illuminate crimes committed by children against children and to stir reforms to improve safety for teachers and students.”
