The IUP Management Information Systems and Decision Sciences Crimson Team took fourth place in the Quick Fire Challenge of the Intercollegiate Project Management Triathlon 2012. Five schools, including IUP, participated in the challenge in Pittsburgh on April 13–15, 2012. For the Quick Fire Paired Challenge, IUP student Su Xian Chow was paired with Dana Churchill from Appalachian State University. Chow would go on to win an individual award for excellence for achieving first place in the paired event.

“It was a really great experience to be able to meet up with different participants from different states,” Chow said. “I thought (the competition) would be an eye-opener. So I took it as a practice to test how much I know about project management.”

IUP students who participated were Aaron Corso, Adam Mathe, Anthony Tordella, Chad Moyer, Colton Podvorec, Corey Marcheck, Martin Blashock, Mantrel Nuble, Neil Kuzilla, Kristina Kowalski, and Su Xian Chow.

The keynote presentation for the event featured speakers discussing the Westinghouse Electric Company Global Headquarters in Cranberry, Pa., and the construction of the facility.
