The Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) has changed its name to the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
At the September 24, 2011, opening session of the Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo, American Dietetic Association president Sylvia Escott-Stump announced that the name of the American Dietetic Association was changing to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
In keeping with the spirit of this change, CADE changed its name to the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics. The new name and acronym communicate the fundamental relationship between nutrition and dietetics and reflect the ongoing desire to improve the quality of education and the accreditation system.
