Graduate Business Student Association Visits Federal Reserve Bank

On March 23, 2012, 11 students from the Graduate Business Student Association visited the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

The visit consisted of a presentation about the Federal Reserve history and roles in the United States. Theye also had the chance to visit the gold vault, known to be the largest gold repository in the world with a value of approximately $410 billion (as of March 2012).

The visit ended with a presentation about the bank’s educational program, which the visit is a part of. The program aims to increase public understanding of the Federal Reserve System’s role in creating and implementing monetary policy and ensuring financial stability.

Overall, the visit proved to be a great opportunity to better understand the role of an institution that has played a critical part in trying to resolve the financial crisis and help the country’s economic recovery.
