Xinyu Liu, of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, will visit the IUP Chemistry Department on Friday, February 24, 2012, to meet with faculty and students before presenting a research seminar.
Liu’s research deals with the development of new catalytic glycosylation methods and novel protective group chemistry that enables rapid assembly of homogeneous glycoconjugates. He will present “New Methods and Strategies for Oligosaccharide Synthesis” in Weyandt Hall, roomo 240, from 3:35–4:25 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, and all are welcome to attend.
