The second annual leadership retreat for the College of Business Student Advisory Council (COBSAC) was held on February 4, 2012, at the IUP Co-Op Park Ski Hut. The retreat featured speakers and included activities to build leadership attributes.
Speakers were Betsy Sarneso and graduate assistant Allison Shumar, Prashanth Bharadwaj, and David Piper.
Sarneso and Shumar presented on discovering leadership style and how to use leadership qualities to an organization’s best advantage.
Bharadwaj spoke on the leadership concepts from Senge, Covey, and others and had the students do an activity to tie in what he said.
Piper’s presentation included an activity on different conflict-resolution personality and styles. Student feedback from the event was positive according to COBSAC.
