IUP Band to Offer “Premieres and Discoveries” in First Concert of Semester, February 18

The IUP Symphony Band and Wind Ensemble will present their first program of the semester on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium. Titled “Premieres and Discoveries,” the concert will be conducted by Jack Stamp and Jason Worzbyt.

The Symphony Band will be giving the Pennsylvaina premiere of Bruce Yurko’s “After Sunset” as well as the Pennsylvania premiere of a recently discovered work of Clifton Williams entitled “Dramatic Variations.” The Wind Ensemble will give the world premiere of Pittsburgh composer Nancy Galbraith’s “Febris Ver” and the Pennsylvania premiere of Dan Welcher’s “Up River,” based upon the explorations of Lewis and Clark.

Individual ticket prices are $9 regular admission, $8 for senior citizens, and $6 for students and children. Tickets may be purchased at the door starting at 7:00 p.m.
