Episodes of the reality show Campus PD that include scenes filmed in Indiana last year are expected to air on the G4 network on January 31 and in February 2012.
As you probably remember, the helicopter used to do filming of the show crashed in an off-campus parking lot. We continue to be relieved that there were no injuries to students or others on the ground, and we also continue to offer our condolences to the family and friends of the helicopter pilot who died as a result of injuries he sustained in the crash.
I want to make clear that the helicopter was being used by the staff of the reality show Campus PD. The title of the show implies that IUP police were involved. They were not. The university was neither consulted nor involved in any arrangements related to this project. The show’s producers made all arrangements for filming in the community with Indiana Borough Police Department.
