On October 14, 2011, Rita Drapkin (Counseling Center), Malinda Cowles (Center for Health and Well-Being), and Dave Berberich (Housing, Residence Living, and Dining) gave a workshop at the annual PASSHE Diversity Summit, held this year at Bloomsburg University.

The presentation was titled, “What About the ‘T’? Transgender Issues on Campus.”

Following some basic definitions and information about federal and state laws that do—and do notêcover transgender individuals, they shared national data about transgender students on college campuses.

The remainder of the presentation focused on the wide range of campus considerations pertinent for serving these students. including, but not limited to, gender neutral bathrooms and housing, class rosters, financial aid, options on standard forms, and a range of policies.
